Vesak Day funding announcement

I was humbled to announce $1 million in federal funding to Sri Lankan Buddhist temples in Dandenong and Cranbourne South for vital security upgrades on Vesak Day.

The funding will ensure that both temples are safer for all users by upgrading new lighting, fencing, ensuring there is CCTV and improving overall accessibility.

The Prime Minister has been very clear about our Government’s commitment to protecting places of worship in Australia, this funding honours that commitment to the Australian community.

“We have a wonderful Sri Lankan Buddhist community in Holt and indeed in Melbourne. They make a tremendous contribution to Holt and I am delighted to have been able to support them with this election commitment” said Ranj Perera, the Liberal candidate for Holt.

Only a Coalition Government will provide for local multicultural communities in Australia.
