Iranian Protest Outside Parliament House

Senator Van attended the protest outside Parliament House at 3pm in support of the women and girls of Iran. The Iranian community is currently protesting the regime’s abhorrent treatment of women and lack of respect of the basic freedoms and human rights that all people deserve. The Islamic Regime continues to violently suppress the people of Iran and their calls for their basic human rights to be respected.

“The Albanese Government must act” said Senator Van.

“It’s incumbent on democracies like Australia to ensure international law is upheld”.

“The Government should use the Magnitsky style sanctions that were passed in the last Parliament to target those perpetrating these crimes.”
