Communities in Frankston City are set to benefit from improved sporting facilities as funding from the Morrison-McCormack Government’s Community Development Grants Programme flows to the Lloyd Park Redevelopment Project in Langwarrin.
Senator for Victoria, David Van said the project, that will deliver a brand new two storey pavilion at Lloyd Park, will enable people to participate in sport for generations to come.
“Our Government places great importance on encouraging sport and recreation and investments like these provide high quality and accessible places for Victorians to enjoy the benefits of active recreation.”
“This upgrade will not only support the ongoing viability of locals and sporting clubs utilising the facility, but also create new employment opportunities, which will support our region well into the future,” Senator Van said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the Australian Government’s $3,000,000 investment in community infrastructure would provide long term benefits to Frankston City.
“In addition to building more female friendly amenities, this investment sees the construction of new storage areas, first aid rooms, a canteen, kitchen, meeting rooms and a social area,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
“This project will support multiple jobs in construction, use local businesses and supplies and in turn, back the efforts of local volunteers well into the future.”
The project will also be funded by Frankston City Council and is expected to reach completion in June 2023.
