Building Our Defence Industry in Victoria

Five Victorian companies have received nearly $3 million to help them grow our nation’s defence industry capability.

Senator for Victoria, Senator David Van, today congratulated the companies who have received grants through the Australian Government’s Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority Grants program.

“Aero Spec Engineering in Clayton South will receive $399,077 to purchase and install manufacturing equipment, building modifications, staff training and accreditation.

“Aquaterro Advanced Product Supplies in Dandenong South will receive $372,217 to expand their storage requirements for weapons and ammunition, in line with the Department of Defence’s specifications.

“This funding will help our Victorian companies build their industrial capability and resilience, which is then supporting Defence’s critical capabilities.

Eligible activities funded through the program relate directly to buying, constructing, installing or commissioning capital equipment, including associated training and accreditation for their workforce.

“I congratulate the five successful Victorian grant recipients who are being supported to deliver a number of quality projects that will enhance Australian defence industry’s sovereign capabilities, in line with our priorities.”

Grant applications can be made at any time and can be submitted through the Centre for Defence Industry Capability website at: www.business.gov.au/cdic
